Abstract

The usage of heterogeneous multi-radio networks to deliver multimedia services has raised the problematic of adequacy between the services and the available network(s) resources. This is often referred to as "mobility problematic". In wireless environments, mobile multimedia services have to cope with many network events that may result in high bandwidth variations. These services also have to deal with many different types of terminals ranging from mobile phones to high-end multimedia computers. Mobile multimedia services should adapt their behavior in order to provide their users with a satisfactory Quality of Service (QoS).
