| Abstract |

This paper gives a survey on the impact of handover between heterogenous links to the performance of TCP and elaborates on the effects TCP is challenged at the moment of a handover. Moreover, we propose several approaches to improve the performance of TCP in these situations and present an evaluation of these approaches by means of simulation.
