Trade-offs Between Tariffs and QoS in Mobile Telephony Networks: an Integrated Design Approach

Abstract: In this paper we present an analytical approach for the joint optimization of quality of service (in terms of call blocking probability) and tariffs for a mobile telephony network. The analytical approach is based on the combination of traditional telecommunication system design techniques and econometric approaches for profit maximization.
